Rebuilding Together Dayton
2010-03-08
With Spring just around the corner it's time for Rebuilding Together Dayton projects to start. This year Rebuilding Together is partnering with the Disney Corporation in their "work a day spend a day" program.

If you donate eight hours time on a rebuilding project you will be able to spend a day at either of the U.S.A. parks for free. In all my years of working with this group or any other I have never experienced such an offer.

You can learn more about this offer at www.disney.go.com and more about Rebuilding Together Dayton at www.rtdayton.org

To volunteer please call Bill Melke at 937-239-9343 or email at bill@erinet.com. Thank you brothers for your continued support.

Public Offices
2010-02-25
The Wash. D.C. office of the IBEW is asking for our help in updating their list of IBEW members holding LOCAL Public offices. (mayors, town council, township trustee's, school boards, etc.)

If anyone is holding or knows of someone holding office, please contact Local 82 so we can pass along the information to our National Office.

Thank you for your help.

DRUG CARDS!!! DRUG CARDS !!!
2010-01-20
Remember to keep your cards CURRENT.

There are 2 dates on the back of the card and BOTH dates must be current to get a referral.

Effective immediately if not sooner; if you do not have a current drug card "in hand" you will not be given a referral.

Code of Excellence classes
2009-08-26
Code of Excellence classes are offered at the Local Union 82 hall on Wednesday's and Saturday's. Class sizes are limited to 20 for each session. To schedule a time, please call the office and ask for Cathy. IF we do not get at least 10 people for any particular day/time, we will not hold a class.

Morning classes are at 8 am and afternoon classes are at 4:30 pm. Classes run about 3 1/2 hours in length.

TWIC Cards
2008-12-24
TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) cards will soon be required when working at the Marathon Oil facility in Huntington, W. VA. local 317.

These cards are issued by the Homeland Security branch of the gov't and from what the referral agent in Huntington lead me to believe would soon be required all up and down the river at any of those power plants. I do have some applications at the office if anyone is interested in filling one out. There is a cost involved of $ 132.50 paid by the applicant.
