Mark 1 29-45

Hang Time Podcast

DALLAS – The Finals isn’t the only thing going on in the basketball world right now.

It certainly feels that way here, where the Mavericks are trying to avoid the dreaded 3-1 deficit in this series against the Heat.

But there is news breaking constantly in the NBA, the latest involving ABC’s Mark Jackson , who takes over as head coach of the Golden State Warriors.

Instead of discussing one topic or the other, here at the hideout we like to do it all. So we dove in both directions for Episode 59 of The Hang Time Podcast .

Former NBA All-Star Jerry Stackhouse , you’ve probably seen him on NBA TV in the analyst chair, holds the distinction of having played for both of these teams battling in The Finals. He played for the Mavericks in The 2006 Finals, when they lost to Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal and the Heat in six games. He also played eight games this season with the Heat, filling in early in the season when Mike Miller was battling injuries. He shares his unique perspective on both teams and the matchups we’ll likely see the remainder of the series.

HT fave and longtime NBA writer Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports also dropped in to break down the Warriors’ decision to hire Jackson, discuss this rumored Monta Ellis - Andre Iguodala trade between the Warriors and 76ers. Spears also broke down some of the other coaching movement news from around the league, while also sharing his take on the plight of Brian Shaw , the former Lakers assistant tabbed as the heir apparent to Phil Jackson who is now searching for his next job.

We finished things up a nice assist from our main man, TNT’s David Aldridge , who spent some quality time with former Duke sensation Kyrie Irving , the potential top overall pick in the The Draft. 29:45 .

LISTEN HERE:

LeBron needs to step up. In both games 3 & 4 he was not visible at all. No effect on the outcome of the games. He needs to show that he is talented as expected. The reason why Michael Jordan was so dorminant is that when the stakes were high and it was clutch time, he always delivered . LeBron needs to understand that this are the Finals and no one is going to roll over for him, Not the Mavericks . There is a saying that ” if you have your foot on the Enemy’s neck you better finish him off otherwise you will be the hunted ” . Mavericks have been the hunted in the Finals but now Miami is becoming the hunted and Mavericks the hunters. LEBRON show up or go home .Similar to what happened when you were at Cleveland.

A Lamp Under a Basket

21 And he said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand? 22 For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. 25 For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

The Parable of the Seed Growing

26 And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. 27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. 28 The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

The Parable of the Mustard Seed

30 And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”

33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. 34 He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and Earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
