As the Official Hotel for London Jewellery Week 2011, we have some really exciting events going on. But there are plenty of things going on around town too – here’s some great events to watch out for:
- All that Glitters Theatre
Free to enter and taking place in our very own May Fair Theatre , this event showcases the World Premiere of ‘Guilt’ a performance about Fairtrade gold. It’s a sparkling display of theatre song and dance – not to be missed! Reserve your ticket at www.allthatglitterstheatre.com.
- JewelEast
From 6th-10th and 12th June at Old Spitalfields Market, you can browse and buy from hundreds of designers’ jewellery – costume and vintage. There are workshops and demonstrations as well as catwalk events and great food.
- World Record Attempt at the Hatton Garden Festival
For the first time ever, the students and alumni of the Hatton Garden Festival Holts Academy will attempt a world record for how many rings they can make in a day. The rings will then be sold for charity with all donations going to the NSPCC Jewellery for Future Generations campaign. Go and support them and you could bag your very own handmade ring. Takes place on 11th June at Hatton Garden, EC1.

On 10th-12th June at Victoria House in Southampton Row, jewellery designers will be showcasing their wares for 3 days. Everything is available from affordable to high end luxury and if you fancy something bespoke, the designers are on hand to discuss private commissions.
- Jewellery Fakes and Forgeries at Goldsmiths’ Hall
Spotting the real from the fake is a skill in itself and now you can learn the tricks of the trade at Goldsmiths’ Hall in Foster Lane on 10th June (all day event). Spot out forged watches, gemstones, hallmarks and jewels with the experts from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry and the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
