Delegates attended sessions on energy, electrical safety and rural electric careers. They elected their own manager and board of directors and operated a Coke & Candy Cooperative. According to the city, at least 140 Oklahoma Electric Cooperative customers remained without power as of Wednesday afternoon. An OG&E website showed that more than 30000 of its customers in Norman lost power after the storm swept through.

Cimarron Electric Cooperative damages in northwest Oklahoma were significant. Manager Mark Snowden said the cooperative will face up to $2 million in damages. “Our worst damages were suffered around the Piedmont and Canton Lake areas,” Snowden said.

UNDATED -- Four Oklahoma rural electric cooperatives expect to have electric service restored to all of their customers by Sunday, May 29, 2011.
As of 9 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011, the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives says the number of outages stands at 506.
Storm damage and outage update:
Cimarron Electric Cooperative , Kingfisher: 450+ poles destroyed; approximately 300 meters without power, 240 residential of that total. Most residential to be restored by Sunday. Cimarron has had 5 housing additions with more than 200 homes destroyed in their service area, including the Calumet, El Reno, Cashion and Guthrie areas, and the Canton Lake area. Alfalfa EC, Harmon EA and Kay EC crews are assisting Cimarron and contract crews with repairs.
Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative , Vinita: Approximately 20 poles yet to be set today; 43 outages remaining as of 9:00 AM 5-27-11.
Oklahoma Electric Cooperative , Norman: 250 poles destroyed; 163 total outages remain; All power should be restored to those who can safely receive it by end of day Friday. Most of the remaining outages at OEC are in the Blanchard to Newcastle and Washington to Goldsby areas.
Western Farmers Electric Cooperative , Anadarko: a total of 78 high-voltage transmission structures damaged/destroyed; 1 sub (Cana) destroyed. WFEC management has indicated that the Cana substation could be restored to service in approximately 30 days, but Devon Energy officials have told WFEC that their gas processing facility may not be repaired and be ready to be restored to service until September 1.
