Recipe Publishing Network Increases Online Impact

Hartford, CT - May 31, 2011 -- As most online businesses can attest to, the Google Panda update had an impact on the business of the Recipe Publishing Network. Even though they focused on quality content, this website still couldn’t avoid the repercussion of this change. As a result, the company knew it needed to make a change.

"The Google Panda update brought some changes to our network even though we have always tried to keep our quality standards high and offer totally unique content we did get affected and took a long look at our marketing strategy" says owner Christine Szalay-Kudra.

After some time discussing it with a social media consultant, Christine began the next steps in improving the company’s online presence. The goal is that the company was looking for unique ways to approach the changes from the recent update and still reach those looking for any item they were looking for. This included items that ranged from Crockpot recipes to Mexican recipes.

"We brought in a social media consultant, started a major social media campaign, and wanted a site that would take better advantage of the changes in the Internet traffic landscape" states Christine.

Interestingly enough, the one thing about the Recipe Publishing Network that has helped them to push forward through the years is the fact that they look beyond your basic recipes. Instead of having a catch all website devoted to all styles of cooking, the company has broken foods down and has created websites that cover quick chicken recipes, salmon recipes and even cupcake recipes. This has helped them to form a following of individuals devoted to getting a bounty of ideas based on one central food.

In fact, their new online direction they are taking is rolling out for all of their websites.

"With these campaigns we hope to make the Recipe Publishing Network as much of a household name as big media giants like The Food Network and Allrecipes. Our database of recipes in our 27 site Network including the new network blog includes many popular and unique recipe treats from Pumpkin soup to Mexican food. With this there is bound to be a taste for everyone"

These changes have started with their recent Memorial Day weekend grilling newsletter that they have sent out. This has been a unique way for them to deliver content out there to ensure their guests get the best possible information as well.

Pumpkin Cupcakes Recipe

Ue to popular demand, here’s the recipe for the pumpkin cupcakes I used for the turkey cupcakes. It’s Ina Garten’s and I found it on the Better Homes and Gardens website. It’s a very kid friendly recipe because there isn’t a mixer involved. Everything can be done by sifting things together and whisking, two of La Jolla Girl’s favorite things to do in the kitchen. I just crack the eggs, help measure, handle the oven and monitor the mess.  This recipe stretched into 12 cupcakes that weren’t too rounded on top, which is necessary for some decorations.

4. Divide the batter among the prepared tins and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Ina Garten suggests using a 2 1/4″ ice cream scoop. I have one and was surprised at how little mess (relatively speaking) La Jolla Girl made using this method. I gave her an angled spatula to level the scoop. Sometimes, I’d have to help her squeeze the scoop to flip the batter into cupcake pans.
