Background Investigation Contract Service

Retired Holyoke Police Chief Anthony Scott now consultant

“My retirement lasted a good three days,” said Scott, who formed ASLEC LLC – or A. Scott Law Enforcement Consultant – with a brochure shopping executive background investigations, media, lawsuit and witness consultation, criminal defense preparation and other services. “My lawyer told me: ‘You’ve earned the knowledge and expertise after all these years. You might as well get paid for it.’” Scott retired after a decade in Holyoke and shorter stints as chief in Rock Island, Ill., and Athol before that. He was widely supported by the citizenry of the Paper City for his high-profile “Take Back Our Streets,” or “TBOS,” crime sweeps, regular withering criticism of judges whom he believed repeatedly released criminal defendants, and bombastic press conferences to share his views of the judiciary. “There is no minimum, and I expect there may be months where I don’t talk to chief Scott about something or seek his advice,” the district attorney said. “We’re going to use chief Scott for the issues that chief Scott brings to the table: issues that will directly impact the public, particularly in high-crime areas.” Part of that budget already includes almost $151,000 in salary costs for a three-employee community outreach team, headed by Antonio O.F. “Tony” Simmons and deputy director Brian P. Sullivan. Sullivan, who was Mastroianni’s campaign manager, spends half his time on that team, which focuses on building community relations and juvenile intervention – mantras of Mastroianni’s resoundingly successful campaign – and half his time on government relations. Scott recently sold his home in west Holyoke and said he plans to move to South Carolina in the coming six or seven months. In addition to the $48,000 annual retirement he receives from the city of Holyoke, he collects pensions from the New Orleans and Rock Island police departments. However, the former chief said, he is not in the consulting business for the money. Scott suspended the trio for five days, which was extended by then-Mayor Michael J. Sullivan. The suspensions were upheld by an independent arbitrator and a higher court, Scott noted. The incident polarized several members of entrenched Holyoke politics who came down on different sides of the issue and the long-running controversy sullied Scott’s tenure, to an extent.

hey dagger i'm retired and with my savings i don't make enough money to really enjoy what are supposed to be the golden yrs. so i still keep my hand in working part time and as a consultant in my field of expertise. Maybe when the liberals have used up the promised all the money in the s.s. fund paying people for not working there won't be anything left for you to retire on. just because you're put out to pasture, it doesn';t mean you can't graze in the grass!!!!!!!!!!!! THREE CHEERS TO CHIEF SCOTT!!!!!
