DUBLIN--( BUSINESS WIRE )-- Research and Markets ( http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/0fe7dd/thailand_consumer ) has announced the addition of the " Thailand Consumer Electronics Report Q3 2011 " report to their offering.

The Thailand Consumer Electronics Report provides industry professionals and strategists, corporate analysts, electronics associations, government departments and regulatory bodies with independent forecasts and competitive intelligence on Thailand's consumer electronics industry.

Thailand's consumer electronics devices market, defined as the addressable market for computing devices, mobile handsets and AV products, is projected at about US$8.3bn in 2011. This is expected to increase at a CAGR of about 7% to US$11.4bn by 2015, driven by the growing affordability and popularity of flat-screen TV sets, low-cost smartphones and other digital lifestyle products.

Consumer Electronics:

In 2011, consumer electronics spending is expected to grow 13%, driven by an improving economy, and salary increases for civil servants and others. Government support through consumers through initiatives such as the Pracha Wiwat programme should help to boost consumer disposable incomes and consumer confidence. In 2010, demand for consumer electronics devices recovered strongly after political turmoil had earlier affected sales of smartphones and some other high-end products.

Computer Hardware:

Computer hardware accounted for about 53% of Thai consumer electronics spending in 2010. BMI forecasts Thai domestic market computer hardware sales (including notebooks and accessories) of US$4.4 bn in 2011. The computer hardware CAGR for the 2011-2015 period is forecast at about 6%, in the context of a currently low PC penetration rate of below 20% and which is expected to pass 25% by 2015. Drivers will include growing affordability of notebooks, wireless networking capabilities and government programmes.

AV Devices:

AV devices accounted for about 34% of Thailand's consumer electronics spending in 2010. The Thai domestic AV device market is projected to be worth US$2.8bn in 2011. With relatively low penetration of both flat panel TV sets and digital cameras, the market is expected to grow to US$4.1b in 2015. The average sales price of an LCD TV set continued to fall in 2010, thanks to price competition, particularly in the 32-inch under and below segment.

Best HDTV for Watching the Super Bowl : Behind The Scenes TV – The ...

Sunnyvale, Calif. (PRWEB) January 3, 2008

For the price football fans would have to pay for one premium seat at the Super Bowl they can buy a big screen LCD or Plasma HDTV they can watch all year long. Retrevo analyzed Plasma TV and LCD TV user reviews, expert reviews, HDTV features, and the latest prices to come up with a list of recommended features and HDTV sets. Retrevo's analysis included Sony LCD TV reviews, Panasonic plasma TV reviews, Pioneer plasma TV reviews, Olevia TV reviews, and Samsung LCD TV reviews.

Andrew Eisner, director of content at Retrevo says, "Fast action sports can place extra demands on a TV set. The last thing you want to see is streaks and blurs showing up on the screen." Eisner added, "Retrevo picked the Plasma TVs and LCD TVs that have the best features to handle fast action sports like football or basketball."

Rear Projection TVs still offer the best bang for the buck and Front Projection TVs come closest to a real movie theater experience but for this year's Super Bowl, Retrevo recommending either an LCD TV or a Plasma TV.

Best TV Sets for Watching Sports

Plasma TVs have had a slight advantage for viewing sports programming because plasma can be turned on and off faster than a liquid crystal pixel. The gap is narrowing as more LCD TVs come out with faster (120 Hz) refresh or frame rates, faster pixels response times of 8 ms, and new MEMC (motion estimation motion compensation) chips to help minimize blurring. That difference should vanish and even favor LCD TVs when LCD TVs start using LED backlights that can be switched on and off and virtually eliminate blurring.

LCD TVs

Retrevo recommends any consumer willing to pay a premium for the Sony brand and wants one of the highest rated LCD TVs, to consider the Sony BRAVIA KDL-46XBR4 for around $ 2500 or the Sony BRAVIA KDL-40XBR4 for around $ 2200. Both sets run 120 Hz refresh and 8 ms pixel response.

Users say the Samsung LNT 4071F 40 inch LCD TV holds its own against Sony's new XBR4 and XBR5 LCD TVs. It can be purchased for less than $ 2000 and offers 120 Hz refresh, 8 ms. pixel response, and 3 HDMI inputs.

Syntax Olevia has a reputation for delivering a quality LCD TVs at reasonable prices. The best values can be found in their 720p sets like the 37 inch Olevia 537H that can be purchased for under $ 700. For $ 800, you can get a 42 inch Olevia 242T. Both offer 8 ms response times but neither offers 120 Hz refresh.
