The dolphins are found all over the world with some living in the shallow seas of the continental shelves of which most are carnivores and feed on fish and squids.

These mammals are known for their social nature, intelligence, playfulness and their friendly face. These features are:

The Dolphin Features: They normally have a straight body which assists them to swim faster in the seas. Then they have a tail fin which is used to help them propel while in the sea almost like a water boat propellers and has pectoral fins which acts as a stirring wheel whereby they help them to control the directions they will be making. The dolphins are also known to have the dorsal fin which helps them remain stable in water such that are remain straight in the water. They usually come in various colors such as in shades of Grey with a lighter underside and at times they will have lines and patches all in different Grey contrasts. They breathe through their blow hole that is on top of their heads. What they enjoy eating most: Dolphins like human beings, have their favorite foods and the most enjoyable food will vary from one type of dolphin to another. Otherwise, their favorite food is usually fish and squids while the biggest dolphin known as orca feeds on other sea animals. There is something known as coralling where the fishermen train dolphins to chase the fish into shallow water where they can catch them easily and then dolphins are rewarded by eating the fish that get out of the nets. Their Social Nature: As mentioned earlier one of the best characteristics of the dolphins is that they are able to interact freely with human beings as well as with other dolphins. They use many sounds such as clicks, and other sounds like whistling to “talk” or communicate with other dolphins. They are known to be very kind and build very strong friendships with other dolphins. In fact, should one of their closest dolphins get injured, they can stay with them until they get well and if they have problems when breathing they will push up the injured dolphin to water surface so that it can breathe easily.
